日本の伝統文化の魅力を世界に発信する第2回伝統邦楽グローバル・チャレンジの受賞者に尺八演奏家のイオ・パヴェル氏が選ばれました。

【プロフィール】
イオ・パヴェル
2013年に来日し、尺八演奏家・石川利光氏に師事。東京藝術大学大学院音楽研究科邦楽専攻修士課程修了。一般社団法人日本尺八演奏家ネットワーク(JSPN)会員。NHK邦楽オーディション合格。現在はサンクトペテルブルク音楽院民族音楽部博士課程に在籍し、研究・演奏活動を行っている。

The recipient has attained a remarkable command of the classical tradition, combining refined technique with profound artistry. Furthermore, the recipient has demonstrated a clear vision and an unwavering dedication to promoting the richness of Japan’s traditional musical heritage to audiences throughout the world and to future generations. These distinguished qualities mark the recipient as an artist of exceptional promise, from whom continued achievements and contributions are greatly anticipated.
Profile:
He came to Japan in 2013 to study shakuhachi under Toshimitsu Ishikawa. He earned a Master’s degree in Japanese Traditional Music from the Graduate School of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. He is a member of the Japanese Shakuhachi Performers Network (JSPN) and successfully passed the NHK Traditional Music Audition. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in the Department of Ethnomusicology at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory.

2018 – Performed Toru Takemitsu’s November Steps with the Orchestra of the Moscow Conservatory at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
2018 – Invited by the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where he performed with a local organist, cellist, and soprano singer.
2021 – Presented the online Shakuhachi lecture-concert series Voice of the Century at the Japan Foundation, Moscow.
